Thanks to a member "dice" i finally have some LED footwell bulbs that dont look too dim.. infact these look too bright

I also fitted an LED in the center light.. but it was far too dim and the light too directional, so put the stock one back.. until i can find an LED bulb which disperses the light better.

Are you trying to tan your feet?

LOL.. didnt think of that... would be handy in winter (and even in the brit summer!)

They are a little too bright.. i think i'll cut some more LED's off... being bright they also highlight dirty mats more  But once i get a matching vanity light i think it will look better.

bit too bright, but how did you do it ??

I bought one of these (i actually bought two incase i messed the first one up!):

And cut it in half (as its exactly twice the size of the footwell lights)... and then re-soldered the wiring to complete the circuit - and connected the attached bulb adapters into the stock light unit.

Two rows might be slim enough to fit in the vanity mirror so i may have a play with the other one next weekend.

Actually just done my boot with the latest type of ribbon LED. Only 2mm thick and 60cm long. Just like those you have you can just cut any off that you don't want. Got 3 as the post was the same and so only cost me £1.50 each all in.

T'd into the little light on the right of the boot carpet and fastened it all along the underside of the boot deck.

Makes a huge difference for a 10 minute job.
