:!: hello everyone i want to know if anyone can help me try and find a z4 m roadster bumper cover to install on my car i really want one and asap i called the dealer but i was looking more for a refurbished one of maybe someones old one...and if anyone is interested i would trade my stock 03 z4 3.0i bumper cover. Also i would like to know if its possible to remove the lights and black out the housing myself on my headlight...if so could someone maybe tell me how!!! It's a fairly straightforward, yet somewhat expensive conversion. Finding a used or refurbished Z4M front bumper skin might help you save money, but make sure it's in decent shape. Otherwise you might spend more having that bumper repaired & refinished than say if you bought it new.

Headlight swap is easy once the bumper is removed. You'll need a torx bit driver to remove the 4 bolts surrounding the headlight. Also pretty strightforward.

yeah but once i remove the headlights how do i black out the housing? is it easy and could you tell me the steps? also is there any good place to look for a used m bumper besides ebay or is that my only real choice, the reason i ask is because they come once in a blue moon! thanks roger!
 
I don't think there is any way to open up your headlights and black out the housing. You risk damaging your original headlights if you try to open them yourself. Best bet is to purchase a used pair off ebay or a junkyard. If it is black housing you are looking for, you'll want headlights off a 2.5i from 2003-2005, or I believe the 2006+ 3.0i also have black housing. From 2005+, the turn signal is clear instead of amber.

Used ///M bumpers are hard to come, but if you are lucky to find one off ebay or a junkyard/body shop, then by all means jump on that deal. Just keep in mind what I said about making sure it's in good condition. I got mine off eBay for about $260 shipped, but then had to pay an extra $200 for additional body work (feathering out scratches, heat treatment for dents, prep work, etc.).
 
thats sounds like a good deal i was expecting to at least pay around 700 but i guess you got real luck...by the way your dyi on the bumper are amazing and very helpful i cant wait to actually get to do it myself...do you think anyone would trade my lights for theirs? and is that even possible is it just a plug and play game? thanks -adam-
 
should be plug and play on the headlights. Actually to get the headlight turn signals to work 100%, a little re-wiring is involved. I've been meaning to a DIY for headlight swap, so when I get around to that I'll describe it more in detail.

thanks dude for all the help and if ya find anything please let me know i am trying to have my car ready for a show at the end of april so im in a bit of a hurry but if it cant be done then that is that but i sure wanna try! P.s. your z4 look amazing
