Some advice appreciated on red Tyre warning

So I picked my coupe up from the local stealers on Friday after an inspection II and full safety check (complimentary). I was warned that two wheels were buckled but classed as amber status. For the record until this point I was not aware of any issues with tyres, wheels, pressures etc.

Drove to work today with no issues.
However on the way home after a 20 minute run at 70mph the red tyre warning light came on. I pulled into the nearest garage. Looked around and no flats, no obvious damage to tyres or wheels. Decided to use the compressor at the station to check all pressures.

First thing I noticed was that on both rear wheels the tyre valve was so far retracted back into the wheel rim that I could barely get the adaptor on, I have never noticed or experienced that before and only checked my pressures 4 weeks ago! Thought it was a bit strange. Then I check the tyre pressures and all 4 wheels were up at 44+ PSI

I always run my backs at around 36 and fronts at around 32-34, never had any issues with handling or tyre wear. over 40PSI seems pretty high to me? So I reduced them all down.

Tried to reset the tyre light on the way home and it won't go out. I've had a moan at the Stealers and have been asked to bring it in on Wednesday. Just seems strange??

I've had the warning light (red) a couple of times in the last couple of months. It's quite a sensitive system. I'd definitely reduce your pressures! Then reset (press and hold the tyre button - it'll go yellow) then drive off and the light should go out. Personally, I run all the tyres at the same pressure - 32 should do you unless you carry heavy loads (or a regular passenger), neither of which I do tbh. I think if you've got 2 buckled, the above is unlikely to help - new set of wheels!

Tyre pressures need setting when cold. After 20 mins at 70 mph I'd expect the pressures to be a lot higher. Check again when cold before making conclusions.

Buckled wheels may not be obvious when driving, so no surprise there. Dealer will have spun them and used sight or a dial gauge. Need fixing at a specialist, but not urgent.

Sounds like you also have short stems. Perhaps the garage fitting is bigger than you usually use??

Are they definitely your wheels?

Sounds like someone at the dealer has screwed up and kept quiet. If the values were normal before, do not stand any rubbish from them.

Sorry for delay.

Issue resolved after dropping pressures to 33psi and no repeat issues.

Alloys definitely mine, had them powder coated 2.5 years ago, I guess after 30,000 miles with alot of country lanes they are bound to get some abuse.

I've a spare set of 108's in the garage which I may get refurbished in spring (if I keep the car).

Currently got DTS system failure lights on at the moment, need to get checked under the extended warranty
