SOLVED - Aux IPod Issue- Edit found Dension

Hoping someone might have an answer before I go pulling out existing cable and replacing.

My car came with Aux cable, complete iPod/iPhone Jack connection.
Aux shows as an option on the head unit but when I plug in the iPhone I get a message to say the device isn't recognised.

Could it be that I need a bit of software for phone or head unit?

Anyone else experienced this?

Ok Update - I've found a Dension of some sort - Says Dension One on it, anybody got one?

It could be the Dension requires a firmware update, I would go to their website and download the latest version on to a usb stick, and upload it onto the Dension, at least you will know that has the latest update,

A few searches and it seems to be Icelink One - doesn't seem to have USB connection but I'll investigate a bit more!

Doesn't seem to be a model that you can update, might need to get hold of a different iPod and see if it works!

it also says on the link, follow the link for your Dension unit model to get your update, bottom of page, product selector

I assume it has been enabled for a bmw, in the product selector there is that option too

Not easy finding instructions for this but noticed a little switch on the unit with what looked like radio frequencies,
So set to 87.7, tuned radio to 87.7, plugged in iPhone and we have music!
Just need to put the car back together now and go for a spin! :rofl: :driving:
