Soft top problem

Hi all
Just joined the forum and I have a couple of problems with my newly acquired 2005 Z4 and wondered if anyone can help. Firstly the car tends to wander a bit on uneven roads,it's passed the MOT with no advisories and I have had the steering geometry checked, but I am still not happy with the way it handles and wondered if it's just me!
A friend suggested swapping the tyres around but that's made no difference.
The second problem is the roof is a bit sluggish when retracting, and needs a little push to get it going and doesn't clip under its own steam. When putting it down it's fine and retracts and locks ok.
Can anyone help please?
Terry

Hi Terry, welcome to the forum, If you have run flat tyres, these will make the car tram line, you will also find tyre pressures need to be played with. What wheels/tyres do you have.
Always good to get a photo or ten of your car on here when 1st posting as we like to see what you have.
The roof sounds like it could be the motor on it's way out, but these can be bought back to life, have a look through the forum for both tyre and roof problems and you will find plenty

As Mr Bobby said............if it has run flats, try there for steering/ride/tramline issues, they really are shy't.

Welcome to the forum.
As above regarding the run flats. Regarding roof, I guess you could spot some 3 in 1 oil on all the moving parts: retract it and then cut the engine as its half way down, then oil all hinges etc. - worth a try, although it's more likely to be motor on the way out.

I had the same issue regarding run flats. Sounds like the motor is on the way out or low on oil either way you'll need to get the motor out to solve the problem. Where are you based?

tram lining is down to the run flats recently changed mine out and its like driving a different car. the roof problem is possibly the motor but there a few members who do a motor replacement / move for a very reasonable fee
