SoCal Zs: whats the plan for homecoming?

Well i don't expect the web site to come up until the first part of June. So I'm sorta guessing here.
Last year we left on the Saturday before and arriven Wednesday morning at Deal's Gap ( The Dragon ). We went on in to Greenville and was there Wegnesday night. Checked in to Embasy Suits on Thursday after doing a bit of laumdry. We did not make reservations on the way across the states, giving us a flexable drive time. We always found rooms. The rooms averaged $90.00 a night plus food and gas. We went through 2 tanks of gas per day. The hotels generally had a breakfast in the morning , stop for lunch and when we got tired or were near a good sized city we would stop cor the night ( 5 - 7 PM , clean up and have dinner. Last year we went out the 40 as to put us at Deal's Gap.
There has not been much talk as yet about this year. Coolz4 and I have talked about taking a day or two after HC 08 and see some east coast family and then heading home. Beyond that not much.

Gotcha feeling guilty EH. Just teasing. I know how hard it is when family in near by. Last year while at HC 07 , my dad wanted to come up to Hc while we were there. I just told him we would come down afterwards. That way i got to have two seperate events instead of taking time away from one to add the second.
With 6 of us coming out I doubt I will be making any side trips this year.
Kathy and I are thinking of seeing family on the way over to HC08. Got family in New Mexico and in Florida, so we may not be caravaning across the US with you guys. OF course, plans do change and if we all do caravan, then we gotta make a route other than driving straight thru like we did last year. Kathy and I went To Wyoming and cruised thru South Dakota on the first trip. Second time, we cruised thur the middle of the US and the third trip we went thru 44 states 
, most of them before HC06. So, it would be a good idea to see places and make a great trip out of it.
Oh, we also need to make t-shirts so we can be recognized as a group while at HC. Any artists out there?

Thursday is checkin , Friday morning or afternoons is the performance center, Saturday morning is also the picture. Friday and Saturday nights are dinners, usually one at the Embasy and one at the plant.
I have family on the east coast and stop and see my dad in Flordia after HC.
Sounds like CoolZ4 will be doing the family thing before hc. I have not spoken with him on his plans for return.

Three days there and back? She must be crazy, that is about 800+ miles per day and a straight shot . Kathy and I was thinking about leaving Friday before the event and making stops on the way. Of course, if it is a caravan type of thing, then we would have to plan our route and the hotel stops for the group. We haven't decided on whether to see the family before or afterwards.
