Nothing eye watering but among many other things i have learnt this year ,,,
1) i don't need to earn as much money as i thought i did at the start of the year to be happy + content
2) smokey bacon is better than normal
3) buying clothes off the internet is a gamble
3) there is always another set of wheels to want
5) once you get past the itchy stage a beard can be a great addition to life :P

I learnt that what I know I know, it's mine so why should I want to share it? :)

Work it out for yourselves - I did.

It can't be that hard, after all I managed.

I've learned that I can apply what I'm good at (professionally) and 'learn new tricks' in an industry that's almost completely unrelated to the one I previously worked in for 17 years... I have however learned that the new job is not quite my cup of tea... :exitright:

Unlike Mr Wilks I've confirmed that I do need as much money as I thought I did to be happy + content, which is more than I'm earning but not excessively so - I also know it's possible to correct this injustice with some effort...

I'm also now painfully aware of the marital cost of car-related self-indulgence. And can confirm that the upside is more than worth it :driving:

Concussion is a very serious injury that doesn't necessarily result from a blow to the head, and that most sports pay very little attention to...

My rugby squad are no longer boys, they are young men with increasingly individual & challenging expectations... But I've also learned that small changes can make a big difference.

...I've always known that smoky bacon is best :D

Also learned some villages can have more than 1 idiot

I've learned quite painfully that when my first born child and only daughter goes away to Uni, her behaviour and my expectations do not reliably line up. I've also learned that I should not trust my instincts when buying houses or choosing builders.... :-(

Also that bacon sarnies are best with mayonnaise mixed with the ketchup.

I've learnt that a forum run to Skye is an experience that should not be missed should one have the opportunity to go.... 8)

...having the right bunch of idiots along for the ride just makes it even better...

We must do something similar again next year for sure.

I've learned that moving my business premises to two miles from home rather than city centre commuting makes me a much happier bunny and has no effect on turnover.

I need to exercise more the older I get.

I love road cycling, especially the Lycra

I love my cat more and more everyday, dam that boy is special to us.

I always bought dry cured smoked bacon, but have now moved onto dry cured smoked streaky bacon which is even better.

There are some decent people still left in this country, despite the feeling you get from the news / papers.

I've learnt my bosses are bigger half wits than I ever expected :headbang:

Things I've learnt:

1) That selling your house, furniture, cars, buying plane tickets, getting appproved for a Visa and arranging accomodation overseas does not necesarily mean that you will actually emigrate....
2) That I do need as much money as I think I do....and that I'm still a fair way off yet :D
3) That if you break yourself working towards a goal, there will be no well earned rest afterwards, but a new goal to kill yourself working towards.
4) That I'm still young, so may aswell break myself achieving as many goals as I can

1 - Japanese is an incredibly difficult language to learn, and Japan is an incredibly beautiful country
2 - No matter how much money I earn, my wife discovers that there is always more that needs doing to the house
3 - I need to make more time for family and friends, they won't be around for ever...

1. Lots about Type 1 diabetes
2. Salt is bad for blood pressure
3. Friends are very important
4. Your health is even more important
5. I like running :)

+1 on the Skye trip

Also learnt that winter tyres on a normal temperature day are awesome at breaking traction and slide in a far more controllable way than the Goodyear F1s. . . . great stuff
