i guess you guys are aware of the n52 ticking sound problem. some says its no worry (the BMW guys) and some say you have to replace the cylinder head :o
my car has hardly did 14000KM and i wouldnt do a drastic step like replacing the cylinder head on a 100,000$ car unless its certainly necessary..
here is a very long thred about it ..

First question, do you have this problem then?

Had mine replaced because of this issue.

To be honest it's the best thing to do, replacing the head is really an easy job and as long as its the complete head assembly straight from the factory like mine was it shouldnt be a problems.

If the dealer had to put the camshafts, valves, lifters in etc or wanted to replace just the faulty parts as some have had done in the states I would have not been happy.

In the three months since having mine done the engine has been perfect on startup, and there is no hint the head as been changed with other aspects of the engine.

PS that thread was only about 32 pages long in April from memory.

hi thanks for the answer
i do hear the ticking but not as sever as in the video..
i guess ill drop in the dealership and see what thier policy about it ..
