The rear bumper was stripped down and resprayed by seward havant as part of the insurance process. I was worried about whether the paint would match (new paint on a 6yr old car) but it looks perfect! The police officially admitted fault to my insurance company so the whole process was painless and I didnt even have to pay excess because of it.
Whilst you didnt have to pay excess (good result), I presume the "incident" will still be reflected in your renewal premium? Or do the police have special powers there also?
You will be asked about 'incidents' not accidents.
My premium went up by £120 for damage to my car in the car park, when no claim was made (rang them up to find out costs and if other party was insured). Didn't claim on the blokes insurance but it went on the record as a 'non fault incident' which upped premium.
