Snowdoggies!

I took these today (except the first one). We just got a few inches of snow. All the dogs are rescues. Simo was used as an outdoor guard dog for two years and came to us 50lbs underweight, bad case of mange, and some serious dog aggression issues. Emma was used for breeding and "discarded" after two litters when one of her pups became a better option. She came to us 40lbs underweight, scared of cars and storms, and not knowing how to interact with people. We rescued Dusty as a puppy. He had worms and was really bloated.

Here's Simo not caring much for the snow.

This is Emma about to destroy Dusty's furry ass.

Isn't it great when you can turn their lives around and give them some quality life . I had a rescue Golden years ago. He got on great with my other Golden, he ate my wall, wrecked my back door, chased hot air balloons, other than that he was a sweetie. Eventually we found him a really cool home and he lived another 6 years (to 14) with a pack of muttleys on an acreage near here.

They are totally gorgeous, really nice pics, Simo is exceptionally lovely . We have always tried to take on rescue animals. Latest one see Avatar was not ill treated, but was meant to be a stud dog, but turned out not to make the grade, lived outside with 13 others and got very little attention, not a good move for his breed. He is now currently snoring on my sofa and is a very happy dog. Our cats are rescue and my last horse was an ex racehorse that nearly ended up at the auctions.

 to everyone that takes on a rescue animal.

Nice work! The only rescue dog I've had was brought home when my wife delivered our first child. The timing was not ideal but we grew to love her as one of the best dogs ever! She was neat and clean and ran like a deer in her youth! A complete contrast to the old slob of a Lab that is the current couch occupant.

They are all different but in ways they are all the same.

Some really nice pics there. Ours used to love a good play fight in the snow. Unfortunately down to one since last November when I lost my big lad - Warrior

Halo still likes to play in the snow but she has to find others to pick on now - like the camera man for instance. This was Newyears day - woke up to 4 inches of snow and no hangover

malman, lovely pics. Will you get another one to replace the big one?

I decided at the time not to as it really was hard when he died. I may have weakened slightly over the last few months so will have to see. Wouldn't be a replacement though, he had a character you can't replace. A pup would be a nice addition though - not sure Halo would see it that way
