Snapped Bolt

So I had my OEM back boxes put back on today at my friends garage. I wasn't happy to see my local indi that fitted them had snapped a bolt on the far rear hanger and not said anything. It would appear to be a big job to fix too as it looks to be welded to the boot floor. .

Any recommendations on the best fix for this?

The car is so different without the RPI and I really don't like the sound of the S54 engine which I can now hear again. My friends 2005 3.0i sounds much nicer.

How did they manage that, wouldn't think you would need to touch them even.

Although haven't swapped mine yet so can't really say. Was thinking about doing it this weekend, weather permitting.

Don't like the S54 engine sound :o really ? Interesting twist on ///M ownership

how have they done that??

pics needed?? i don't think the hangers are welded to the floor unless I'm forgetting?

Captive studs hang down and the mount fits onto them with nuts..

Its really common for them to just shear off when trying to undo them...

Usually rotten and made out of crap metal..

Not sure how it's been done, but I know it could of only been the indi as I stood and watched my mate today.

With regards to the sound it's just to tappie for my liking, it never sounds right to me. And it's had a new vanos and valve clearances checked twice within the last 2 years and done very few miles in that time.

I was thrilled with the mechanical raw noise the S54 generated , can't say I remembered it being "tappety" :? even on cold tickover it had a nice engine tone that just got better under acceleration .
What oil is in ?

the s54 has a real complex sound, lots happening, very mechanical, very tappy sounding... i adore it.... best engine I've owned by a long way.

+1
+2 raw old school and aggressive /individual noise
Love it!!

This aside as had can off a lot recently with modded then OEM on then now race cans on:)

How?!?!??
Rear of box is a bolt through hanger with what can only be described as a bearing suspended in a rubber hanger
Whilst front is the same ?
You only unbolt the nuts on the side with a spanner upon other, no need to touch car itself as level etc is done on exhaust flange two bolts
You can replace these hangers but depends upon damage the spanner monkey has done :("

That's the rear hanger

That being the front looking from rear of car
So no need to touch base of car for any reason??

too much TQ?? considering yours in a low miler that doesnt really see bad weather , id be asking them to get the welder out.
