Trying to resolve a CEL and a shutter at stop lights that has become more frequent recently, I dug in and found my oil drain hose collapsed, full of sludge build up and with a hole in the center.
I'm trying to get the car to smog right now, and am in a race against my temp plate expiring, so I got some 3/8" vacuum hose from the parts store, rather than ordering and waiting for the actual part to come in. I installed the hose last night and drove about 15 miles, issue and CEL free, all city driving.
Today, I got on the freeway for the first time. Within a few miles, I started poofing smoke (oil), every couple of minutes. I drove about 30 miles and the car continues to do this, even when idling now.
What do you guys think? Continuing to clear excess sludge that might still be stuck down in the dipstick nipple, or is my CCV failed too?
