My mate has a M3 SMG and i have a Z4 SMG, he recons hes stalled his a few times even tho he was in "auto" mode, im not sure this is possible.....is it?

Well, the M3 (I'm assuming E46) and the Z4 use unrellated systems, but in the Z4 you can't stall it if the system is working correctly; it disengages the clutch if the engine is about to under-speed (i.e. stall).

Likewise, you're not supposed to be able to over-rev it, but I've never tried to test that.

My '04 3.0i SMG stalled 2~3 times during the 1.5 years I had it. It's not supposed to stall, but it's possible and it's known to happen to a lot of people from time to time.

mine has stalled twice. i dont think it was a big deal though. i've had the car checked out numerous times when it has gone in for usual inspections.
