SMG paddles - same as auto?

I am thinking if selling my SMG steering wheel and getting an M one, I want something a bit chunkier. Not too fussed about multifunction.

My question is, is the SMG paddle wheel plug and play with an auto paddle wheel? They look the same...

If the answers no, it might get pricey I guess as SMG cars are quite rare (I love mine!)

I fitted the Smg paddles to the m steering wheel, you just need to drill out the marked holes.
 
I would have said identical until last week when it appears my buddy has some that have different looms

Worst case is you just swap your paddles from old to new wheel
