Having installed my M6 gear knob a few years ago i thought it would be best if i finally completed it by wiring it up.

Some info from thread:
Pin# - Description on M6 gear knob wiring harness:
1 = Reverse (switched GND)
2 = Neutral (switched GND)
3 = Drive A/S (switched GND)
4 = Night Illumination (GND)
5 = Night Illumination (switched +12v)
6 = Zone Lighting (switched/constant +12v)
Stage 1 Install: enable dimly illuminated knob face for night-time driving.
To install: Pins 4, 5
This step is easy, and makes the whole thing worthwhile.
connect pin 4 to the brown / black-stipe wire in the white harness for the gear selection LEDs.
connect pin 5 to the blue / red-stripe wire in the white harness for the gear selection LEDs.
Stage 2 (Optional) Install: enable Zone Lighting (not for the weak).
To install: Pins 1,2,3,6
Solder a small wire to the right side of each indicator LED for pins 1,2 & 3. These are the small ones, make sure not to tap the general illumination LEDs (the bigger ones). we soldered wires for pins 4,5 & 6 to the base of the pins on the circuit board instead on tapping into the wire on stage 1.
Pin 6 is connected to the red / blue wire again in the white plug.
here is the back of the circuit board with the wires soldered on, we had to modify the cover to allow the wires through.
