Did you recently use the windshield washer fluid? Sometimes that has a strong odor and can drip down and splash in places after it's used.

Well I suppose the acid test would be to run the aircon for a while on recirculate, as that should maximise any pong coming from that source - if it doesn't, then you're looking for something else.

Its always a good idea to run your aircon regularly anyway, whether its hot or cold doesn't matter.....it drys the air and also has the effect of keeping the system seals fettled, as well as topping potential bacterial infection that causes a stink. :D Mine is on pretty much all the time unless the roof is down.

It wasn't a curry night last night was it?

(sorry, but i couldn't help it :) - mine always smells after curry!)

will call into Halfords on way home, check out this can of a/c cleaner :driving:

have you checked the boot?

My boot got a bit flooded last week and left a stink in my car....

Because this is a crappy American design, like all American cars, the boot lid is crap. the seals are crap... designed for better weather lol!

A large leaf was sat on a small part of the rubber seal and this caused the seal to fail and the boot to leak in heavy heavy Manchester rain! Once I removed the leaf though the seal functioned correctly again...

Now, many kitchen rolls and a big bag of silican chips later I have dried it all out and the smell has gone...... PITA though.....

Stand by to be invaded

Not sure if this is a valid critisism to be fair; apart from leaving it open, I can't think of many better ways to channel water into the boot?
