I do tend to veer away from the endless repeats on the tv & eating my own body weight in roast potatoes (if only for a few hours) so we jumped in the car this morning and went to Glastonbury Tor to fulfill the inner Druid.
And jolly nice it was too, now where did i put that cider? 8)

Can't beat a bit of digeredo. Had one on top of Stowe hill on mid summers Eve. I wonder if it was the same guy. :)

The air was so clear today I could see the Exmoor clear as a bell, from the center of Dartmoor. :D

Looks like he's smoking a huge pipe. :D Not the same guy.

Looks like typical Glastonbury characters there (didgeridoo guy etc). Cracking day for a drive in the Zed and a walk up the Tor. I feel like I need to do it several time to walk off the over indulgence of the day!

The first thing I saw on bbc breakfast this morning, they were interviewing a couple. It looked stunning. Definitely on my list next year a really early run over from sussex. Great way to do Christmas day.

Is it a steep walk to the top? Would like to go with Deb but if it's a hike that might not work well.

I’d say it’s a fairly steep walk, it certainly makes you puff a bit. Probably about half an hour after leaving the car at the bottom.
The view from the top makes it worthwhile 8)

So, might have to exchange some of the money I received yesterday for petrol and go here. Will check weather for rest of the week/end. :driving:

I have a fascination for Arthurian legend and so have visited Glastonbury a few times over the years. One of my favourite places. Lots to see and do in the area : the Tor and Abbey, Wearyall Hill, Chalice Well, nearby Cheddar Gorge, Wells Cathedral etc. Plenty of good pubs and campsites. Most summers I go down to Cornwall and always look across to my left (east) whilst driving down the M5 through the Somerset Levels, hoping to catch a glimpse of Glastonbury Tor way-off in the distance. Stopped off on the way back a couple of years ago for 3 nights and had a great time. The kids loved it. According to legend King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table are entombed asleep beneath the Tor ready to awake and return at 'Englands hour of greatest need'....surprised he didn't make an appearance during the recent General Election ! :D

Not yet. It's on my to do list hopefully next time. Not Arthurian but I wouldn't mind a look round the Fleet Air Arm Museum which is also in that neck of the woods

That’s a few hundred yards from smartbear towers 8)
While you’re down here, the Haines motor museum is only a 5min drive from those places
