Small water leak in drivers side footwell

I found a small amount of water in the drivers footwell by the accelerator pedal, not loads but it must coming from somewhere. I looked at the window seal and it looks OK.
Any suggestions on where to start looking

Several possibilities, if it's by the pedals first check whether the water has a coolant smell, in which case it would be from the heater/pipe system.

It could be an unsealed membrane in the door which allows water down inside the door, in to the car.

Or a strong possibility is the front scuttle drains (under wipers) being blocked under the bonnet, water builds up and sloshes back through the structure in to the sills and car, I've previously posted some pics here https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=40973&p=585592

Some people have needed to also remove the the housing under the wipers to get all the muck out and properly unblock things and there are several threads posted on how

Rear scuttle drains are a big problem too, if the small drain holes located at the bottom of the scuttles block up with debris (leaves and bits and bobs get trapped on the rear of the hood and make there way down/washed down by rain, into the scuttles) the water fills up your scuttles, drowns your electric hood motor and then simply overfills and runs straight into the interior of your car, nice design BMW.. Grr..
Not sure if the front drains as mentioned by Ewazix simply drain down into the sills and do not get into the car itself. There are YouTube vids showing how the sills fill up with water creating a loud sloshing noise when breaking and accelerating. Best check and clear both drains to be on the safe side.
If you take off the rear parcel shelf it is possible to stick your hand down into the scuttle and feel if it is filling up with water. Best done after a good downpour of rain.. Good luck..

Well I have found where the water is coming in

That looks to be a dodgy door membrane. Take the door panel off and check the membrane

A quick update, I've not had time to devote to this project properly. The car is half covered to stop any further leaks, the carpet is semi up to help it dry, the leak was bigger than I thought.
Anyway the windscreen wash pipe is purchased and in place I will test at the weekend and let you know.

I finally had time to look at this properly, Weston Matt was right it was the door membrane. The black sticky stuck was not so sticky at the bottom.
As the membrane was in good condition I resealed it with silicone. To then over engineer the solution I sealant the bottom edge with aluminium tape.
