Whilst replacing my bonnet latch cable I came across this small speaker above the pedals, after a quick search it seems it could be an SOS speaker?, anyway when I took the panel off it had three cables going to it and only two were connected. The connectors are all different so you can't get them wrong. I'm not sure if the third cable was off for a reason or if it fell off, do I reconnect it??

I am wondering if it is the reverse parking speaker module, that's only if your zed has PDC fitted. Not sure how many wires should be connected to it though

I noticed a while back that my seatbelt alarm doesn't work, I noticed it whilst moving the car on my drive and then purposely tested it. Do your cars have an audible alarm if someone isn't wearing a seatbelt? Maybe a previous owner had it disconnected?

I've connected all three back now and all seems to be working as normal, will see if the seatbelt alarm is still not working.

personally i'd be very happy to get rid of the Nazi seatbelt alarm, I have no idea why bmw couldn't have a little light on the dash to remind me that i'm taking my life into my own hands.

Seatbelt chime can be switched off via SSSv32 software in retrofit section

really? is that easy for someone who has limited IT awareness?

A bit of a faff, I've invested many hours trying to get my install to work without success to date....

Mystery solved, the car now chimes as soon as it's put in reverse, not too sure if I'm going to leave it like that for now, chime and parking sensors going together may be a bit much!

The sounder has 2 sockets and loom points/connections.

One is for warnings such as seatbelts and the second is the horrible continuous 'bong' sound while reversing. I'd suggest you just disconnect the cable for the bong and leave the other connected.
