i am not at all sure i have an LSD,it being only the 3.0se and not an M.

very likely you propshaft, i have had this replaced on mine, quite common. it wont go wrong on you so dont worry, just makes the noise.

just been back to the dealer and its a diff problem,and something to do with the catalytic converter...should be covered by warranty......thank goodness

first i'v heard of a cat problem on a z4..

thank goodness for the approved warranty......they replaced the final drive and the cat (which was the expensive bit),no hint of them trying to wriggle out of a £2k+ bill,way to go BMW Coopers thames ditton,and thats the first time i have ever said that ,but honestly.top marks and quick to turn the car around...

I had mine replaced under warranty on my 2005 3.0 it was making rattling noises.

Hi Guys,

I just purchased my first Z4 in November and it comes out next month (Onatrio Canada with 12 feet of snow still left on the ground) but noticed a metal clanking noise when i put the car in forward or reverse and let ou on the clutch. My warranty runs out May 3rd and need to bring the car back in the States to get it looked at. What are the potential problems?? Sounds like it might be a similar problem?
