now, lets be clear from the start 150bhp isnt that much, and in reasonable warmth (i was in shorts :) ) i expect my car to have a tight grip on the roads, but last night on my way out to pick up the take away (and with only me in the car) i managed to finally get a little bit of rear end movement; it wasnt much, maybe i couple feet to the left, and a bit of a pathetic slide tbh but it was enough to raise the pulse a bit and add some interest to a night usually reserved (in our house) for dross like Britains Got Talent!

Traction control was on. Tyres still have approx 5mm. I did put my foot down pretty strongly half way round the roundabout though :driving:

.....Which is why we don't accelerate mid-bend, unless we want to impress the McDonalds car park Tokyo-drifter-wannabe crew (or join them backwards)

you guys are up early on a sunday morning!

yeah, the cars electronics nor it's smaller engine won't really help to defy the laws of physics.

In all seriousness though, if the back end is going out and the wheels have lost traction, with traction control on the car will try braking the spinning wheel(s) in order to try and get grip again, but you'll keep sliding - even if only for a few feet, depending on how fast you were travelling, how severe the turn in was etc - until it does eventually get some grip. Glad you and the car kept it all in order though, it can get the pulse going a bit - which is why I'm a bit of a wuss and always keep the traction control on

even with BMW - 116 (the smallest engine BMW i could think of  ) you can prob kick the back out... now try the same thing with the traction control off!!!

Empty roads and plenty width made is easy to collect up. Think ill leave traction on though cos I killed alotus chassis a few years ago doing the same thing :s

Did traction control kick in at all? If not, I'll bet there was something on the road that you couldn't see, some gravel, sand, or oil...

Sounds like a diesel spill. Can be pretty scary, especially on a bike, more so when the missus is on the back.......

Check you tyre pressures are right, i had a horible understear after not using my car for a couple of weeks, found out the front tyres had lost about 30% of their pressure through some dodgy tyre valves. Couldn't belive how that effected the handling that much.

Tyre pressure fine and no tc flashes so it looks like I was 'benefitting' from someone else's diesel spillage..... Note to self, be aware of the things I can't see! :!:
