Skid pan at all motor training

Hello all.

Was thinking of doing a track day, but found a skid pan session interesting also. Read a bit and understand that both are a little different, so thought would to a skid pan and then a track day. So did some research and didn't want to do it in a skid car (the one with a height crane/kit - although open to being suggested otherwise). Looked around and found this place: http://www.allmotortraining.co.uk/

Looks interesting, but not many reviews around. Anyone been? Any good? Apologies if in the wrong section :)

Best wishes..

I've done a few driver training days that have involved skid pans. Last one on the prodrive test track, not sure they still run in. They are way more fun than a track day. IMHO. Plus your learning things that will help you when you do go on a track day. :driving:

Done some unofficial skid pan training on a snowy car park - it has helped me out since and would recommend it!

Hi mate

I'd really recommend doing an air field track day. I've done a couple with this company and doing another next month.
Really well set up and loads of run off areas if and when you spin out.

I've been to the prodrive skid pan & handling track in my rx8, great day out!
I've also been on a "car limits" activity day at north wealde airfield-highly recommended :driving:

Hi everyone.

Thanks a lot for the responses. So I ended up going to this place and thought I might as well write something up.

First off, in spite of google saying that this place is permanently closed, it isn't. I went for an individual session for an hour, one can go in a group also (and the session is for 3 hours for 6 people).

The following areas are covered in the session:

1. Rear wheel drive skid,
2. Front wheel drive skid, (more interesting!)
3. All/4-wheel lock/skid (with and without ABS - most interesting!),
4. Free drifting.

Overall, I thought it was fun and worth the time (might be expensive if you decide to go alone, but recommended if you do it as part of a group).

Hope that helps someone.
