Simply BMW at Beaulieu

Missed entering car shows for a while now due to you know what. Have not bought entry tickets yet, as I am watching the weather forcast, but this is definitely written into my diary!
We are in Somerset, so looking to finally give the new addition (E86) a good run to the new forest :driving:

Weather not looking too good, bit of a bugger, not too sure about going now. Been to porsche day there, they try and keep similar models together, can be a good day out. Will review in the morning.

I’ll be going and taking my E86.
Forum member Arthur also taking his Toledo blue Roadster

Absolute shambles here at the moment. Been queueing an hour to get in and it’s an absolute free for all in the car park

There seems to be a holding car park before going to the main car park, then not even any model segregation at all

Update: It wasn't a bad day really with a good array of cars, but massively helped by the good weather.
Unfortunately, apart from the disorganised entry system, the refreshment prices, then continued to take the P*ss with £6.50 for a hot dog, £7:50-£9:50 for a burger and £2.50 for a small paper cup of hot water with a tea bag thrown in. Captive Audience and they absolutely milked it !

Forewarned is forearmed next time. Take your own with you or pig out at a local cafe just before entering the estate

A good turnout, wished there was model grouping as someone said but I don’t think they anticipated the turnout, so it became a bit rushed. Here are a few pics.

I was on coupe watch, didn't snap them all though, think it was around 8 in the end including me.

Should of renamed it 3series fest!

Shame it seems to have been a bit disorganised. :(

I was thinking of going, but after a call from a mate last week we ended up at Duxford today for the Battle of Britain Display.

They knew how many tickets they had sold, so they knew how many cars were coming. And the fact that they do this every week for different manufacturers, you'd think they'd have it sorted.

Thanks Number5, now posting in the correct thread Doh!

Entry was a right mess. Previous years with a different brand, you drove straight in using two lanes. Why prioritise non BMWs (Minis seemed to be overlooked as a Bimmer). We were marshalled into one of the first car parks. Jobs worth in the access road blamed Beaulieu for the mess. Other guy in the car park was much better. Not much communication for those guys from the organiser.

So there we were, no information on what’s happening, and like others, after a long journey, her in doors was desperate for a whizz. Fortunately she was let in without swiping her ticket, meaning she could get back in again. Oh and we couldn’t get a mobile signal either. As Number5 said, food and beverage was a rip off. Too late we found near us a stand alone trader who was doing tea for £2.00. We had two soft drinks, cakes and small quiche salads costing c£23 in their restaurant.

Plenty of Z cars around the show area yesterday, probably only around seven G29 models plus mine below. That 3.0 CSL was my favourite. A 2000 touring was nice along with a green Alpina (not sure what model) with a German plate. Sorry there weren’t more heritage cars around. Weather turned out reasonable which helped.

Food prices aren’t usually bad there from memory. Guessing vendors cashing in on COVID. At least you can take your own food in there.

Do they? Would have loved to attend Alfa Romeos!
