Hi not sure if my headlights are standard or not but the bulb has gone on my drivers side headlight. I have managed to remove the assembly shown here:

I can't seem to pull the bulb out, does anyone know if I can replace just the bulb (and if so what part number or what am I looking for at halfords) or if I need to go to BMW for the full assembly? If I need the full assembly is it number 15 on this diagram (looks different to mine)

These units are supposed to be complete units replacement, some members have managed to get the bulb out to swap for led or brighter bulbs, really its a main dealer order.

One of our USA friends posted how to mod this to take a standard bulb.

It's on here somewhere and a lot cheaper than from the stealer.

Cheers guys, had read that zpost topic before but also wanted to check if mine was the same part number as number 15 in the diagram as it looks different?

I brought replacement bulbs from here as it was the only place I could find that sell them.

Has to be the correct voltage to get rid of the bulb warning light, the ones I brought from halfords lite the halo but still with the indicator on and the dash warning light on.

It's a just a bayonet bulb so you just have make two small holes so the bulb comes out or you can buy the replacement assembly from BMW for about £40

Push it down and twist the bulb as your normal style bulb. Then wiggle it out. I've just drilled the two sides.

Thanks for the heads up on the bulb. Hopefully that website is still working :P
