Side mirror

For some time now I’ve noticed that my driver side mirror is a bit wobbly in the wind. Just the mirror glass, not the mirror body. I’m assuming whatever adhesive or clip that holds it in place is failing. How to I take it apart to repair it? Thanks a lot.

Great stuff! Thanks a lot. Any idea about the other two wires he cut? If I’m going to do this I may as well replace them with nicer ones. Would prefer to do it right and not cut those wires. Seems strange that he could just cut them and everything works fine.
 
If repair this ASAP if I were you. I had the same issue and kept thinking I best sort it. That was until I watched it fly off at about 70mph. Tiny mark on my door but no further damage luckily. Never did find it though.

Possibly although I'd expected to find something. I think it might have 'sailed' off into a hedge or something.
I remember following a friends car years ago when one of the bungies holding his surfboard on the roof snapped. It span violently on its own axis as it shot upwards, I stood on the brakes waiting for it to come through my windscreen but it floated down gently and landed in a hedge with not a mark on it. Suffice to say, no bungies after that day.

X2 I have managed to stop them falling off in the past but last time I was on the M20 and noticed the glass moving around tried to hold with my fingers while driving but it flew off catching the side of the car and me then watched the glass hit the road behind me luckily no one was following.

Its an easy fix you can glue it back on depending on the condition of the heating pad they can look a bit crispy so then I just replace the whole lot do not know what those extra wires are about in that video
 
He has no idea what those wires do! They are the auto dimming wires controlled by the interior mirror, however the heated and auto dim mirrors are frighteningly expensive (that is why his mirrors have gone yellow as the fluid has leaked) the dimming process is called electrochromism and the fluid tends to leak out in hot climates.
 
Please please pull it off and silicone or something back on !!!
Mine was doing it and I just poked it and it fell off into my waiting hand.

Dunno how it stayed on down the dual carriageway.!

Driver's side reflector fell off as I was cleaning the car last summer. Took the n/s one off as well, cleaned & roughened the surfaces and reattached using Araldite.
They haven't fallen off yet and seem to be pretty well bonded.
 
Ok, so I removed my driver side mirror and the wire connection is on the narrow end of the mirror away from the vehicle. None of the replacement mirrors I’ve seen on Amazon or eBay are set up that way. Where can I find the correct mirrors?
