Has anyone ever used this product? A friend has just linked it to me - I usually spend a good couple of hours cleaning, polishing and then waxing my car and enjoy the finished result - if not always the process! He on the other hand usually takes it to the local hand wash and thinks I'm a fool for spending time cleaning and thinks this could be an alternative. According to the description you don't need water, you just spray and wipe which sounds a bit odd. I'm slightly sceptical but if it's good then I'd be interested - I don't have access to a hose so cleaning results in quite a lot of back and forth into the house to refill buckets.
 
Snake oil - nothing but a good wash and then use appropriate products to bring a good lasting shine :thumbsup:
 
I have spent to many hours getting rid of all the swirls, so my zed won't be going anywhere near this stuff
 
I've used this on my Black Zed and also on my White Audi. Paintwork, wheels, windows, the lot.

Basically, it does what it says. If you spray on liberally, wipe off gently and buff up, it leaves a clean and polished look and it smells lovely! :oops:

The Zed is a bit Swirly as mentioned above but it's 10 years old and I can't blame that all on this stuff. Also the combo of metallic and Black is the worst for showing imperfections. :headbang:

The Audi doesn't have any swirls and comes up like it left the showroom. I've washed it a few times with this stuff and also conventional washing, but its white so it wouldn't show much swirling anyway I don't think.

This stuff will always have mixed opinions as there's nothing like a good conventional hose down/jet wash to remove grit and dirt but it does work and I haven't noticed any scratches, etc on the Audi which I've had from new.

Might depend on what colour your car is? Do dark colours show up swirls more than say white, silver or light grey? Probably :roll:

Oh, and just to add: it says 8-10 washes from one bottle which is actually about 5 in reality and you can get 2 bottles for £20 if you shop around. :thumbsup:

At some point i hope to get the Zed professionally detailed to lose the orange peel effect and all swirls etc so wheather ill try it again after for an experiment I don't know!!

But for now I still use it, for a quick clean and polish in one. I used it right before the Essex meet last month and the Zed looked good. If anyone who was there noticed anything out of the ordinary let us know..
 
I have this stuff as a quick detailer. Always good between waxes but I wouldn't use it without prior washing of the car BUT it is AMAZING at removing tar and bugs :thumbsup: the wax contained leaves a nice shine and it will bead for a good few weeks of not more and it's also full of fillers to help mask swirls.

I've heard people swear this stuff works without prior washing but I'll stick to using it after a wash
 
absolutely brilliant stuff, I use it on glossy black polyester grand pianos to get rid of our sweaty finger prints. pianos generally are not covered in road grime grit and mud , would I use this on my car ? would I f*ck !!! :D
 
Heres my two penerth,I always wash with soft hand mitt, leather dry using minky leather which is super absorbent and then apply auto glym ultra shine for darker coloured cars one panel at a time and not in strong sunlight, and am always proud of my labours. I would never use a car wash and would never let anyone hand was it for me. Ive seen people doing their cars accidentally dropping their wash leathers and going straight back onto their bodywork. ( cringe ) Hence I wound never condone the use of this idle mans gimmick, wife says I've got OCD well so be it. but I feel quite proud when I'm out on the road. no disrespect to the thread starter its just common sense. cheers all Barry :)
 
I agree that wiping dirt onto the car could cause swirls, if I were to use it I'd definitely rinse it off first. From reading the replies it seems most of the people who actually have used it think it's a good product. I'll keep it in mind for the future - even if it's just as a tar remover or for quick cleaning. Unlike many of you my car is a daily driver so I can't be too precious about it getting dirty or I'd be spending all of my spare time cleaning it.

@Bazoz4 I would say common sense would be to ask opinion on a new product rather than just using it without research or writing it off completely. I too clean my car with high quality products but spare time is becoming quite a rare thing so these 'idle mans gimmicks' have become more interesting to me :)
 
I havent used this particular product but have used a similar thing that you dilute yourself following good reviews on detailing world. It worked really well although I have never used it to clean a very dirty car. Normal wash would include polish and wax then I started using this as an interim clean in between. No known swirls but it is a bit disconcerting using it for the first time.
