Should I make a change?

I have a fancy for a new Z4 - I currently have a 3.0 (04 roadster)

Will the change make me smile and which one to go for, another 3.0 or the 3.5? I

I'm sorry to be so vague but I'm only at the early stages and will probably not make the leap until the spring next year.

Check out some of the feedback about build quality.

I specifically wanted the radical design of the original/2006 facelift. The latest variant is a lovely car, but those curves aren't extremen enough for moi

I had a look at these when thinking about a Z4 but with the roof down there didn't seem to be a lot of boot space, or at least access is very poor! My main thought is if I need to travel with luggage I don't want to have to have the roof up!

Also, the 35i is the 3.0 with a turbo, so it depends if you like the low down surge of a turbocharged car or not or prefer to rev to get your power?! I haven't driven either but I'd imagine the 35 gives a lot more 'shove' at the lower end as a result...

Yes.

The quality, fit and finish are all excellent. The car turns heads. It has already been proven with Dyno tets that the 35i puts out 332 HP and 332 lb/ft of Torque (the BMW posted figures of 300/300 are way too conservative), so the car is mighty fast! 0-60 times have been tested and documented betwen 4.3 - 4.8 seconds (the BMW time of 5.0 for the DCT equiped car is conservative). It has Launch Control. The DCT is state of the art and a huge improvement over previous generation's transmission. The interior fit/finish/quality/ergonomics are vastly improved.

I've had mine for 2 years now and I love it.

I've just ordered a 23i to replace my daily runabout and my Z4M. Different car for different circumstances. Will miss the raw power but need something a little more economical!

My thoughts on the cars:-
not as chuckable as older car especially on 19 inch rims
poor boot spece with the roof down.
stunning looking car roof up or down.
Manual gearbox is excellent one of bMWs best.
Couldn't afford a new 35i but was underwhelmed with DCT, would have liked to drive one with a manual box but they don't make it!

Op one other thought, from now on new cars will have 2 litre turbos replacing n/a 3 litres.
