After a spending a few days in Milan recently i noticed that a lot of cars were wrapped in Matte Black or Matte Grey...

I am contemplating wrapping my Z4 Coupe in a very dark Matte Grey and then getting my wheels sprayed in an even darker shade of grey (almost black)

I think a common mistake made here is that people tend to wrap the car but leave the wheels silver... which i think looks wrong...

What do you think... should i do it... i found the following pic in google images which should help you envisage what it would look like:

It's a matter of personal taste. But I feel wrapped cars look pretty ghastly :( cars should be polished and shiny in my opinion. The z4 coupe is a great looking car but I can't help feeling it looks a little vulgar wrapped in matt vinyl. Having said that, if it's what you personally like then you should go for it. It would be a pretty dull world if we all had the same car in the same colour.
 
I think people that wrap cars are just bored.

I have a friend that has his car wrapped matt black, but its a track and promotional car so i can understand it.
When looking at it up close its just SO a wrap though; it could more or less be covered in electrical tape. So have a look at some examples in the flesh before doing it. Oh, and it looks awful when its dirty.
 
I'm not a fan at all of wrapping entire cars. It's great for panels like a roof or advert cars/gumball entrants, etc. Etc., but not to live with. Never seen one that up close did not look crap...

I'd worry about damaged paint from trimming to fit, etc. When one day I want it removing.
 
i personally like white coupés with with a wrapped roof and boot, with black alloys (that just my personal chavtastic taste though)

It can be a problem. The best fitters will be careful, but there are an awful lot of less than good ones out there who, while getting a reasonable-looking result, leave a far longer-lasting legacy when the vinyl is eventually removed :thumbsdown:

(I manage a wide - format printing company. We handle thousands of metres of vinyl graphics every year)
 
I really can't make up my mind... i wish i never seen this car in Milan at the weekend... (sorry about the poor pics)

However, i have to say, if i owned that beast... i would not have got it wrapped...

I'd be 50/50, but if I did dare to do it then also would go for grey or deep colour matte instead of black which has been done to death. Think the matte also emphasises the lines of the car. In the same way a black and white photo lets you see detail easier as opposed to colour.

Saying all that though, ultimately I'd probably wimp out of the decision but do like that Batmobile look of the first coupe pic for sure! Just be prepared for people looking at you even more if you do it :!:
