Should I change my E85 for e89

I went E85 3.0l Manual to an E89 3.0l Auto then to a 35is - It will be a cold day in hell if make any hint of a reverse journey!
Don' t misunderstand me tho', each of the two previous cars were good - just each of the subsequent cars were better than the previous and the biggest change was the E89 3.0l Auto to the 35is

We have followed a similar path.....i’ve ended up in a G29 M40i.....Zeds are addictive.

Please don’t get me going down that path again!!!
I talked myself out of it before the lockdown but you already know the score on those decisions it seems!

So I almost bought a g29 30i during the 1st lockdown.
2nd lockdown I got the m40i.

Ori, if you had the 4 of them sitting in front of you today which one would you choose to own?

Which one would you choose to drive,regardless of the spec speed reliability comfort etc,which would you most be wanting to go out in for no other reason than you have a spare window in your time that you can.

Oh guys. That’s a tough question to answer. Depends on what the usage is? Daily drive? Sunday fun car?

Each one has its merits.
The 30i was a manual and I do enjoy a manual. It was a more involved drive.
Then I had the E89 35i which was more comfortable and was easier to live with day to day.
I preferred the 35is that I got after that. I did have it fully loaded, but the extra horsepower and the active suspension made it a much better drive.
Now the M40i is a different beast.
It’s a lot smoother not running on run flats. I find it a bit more tail happy and I love the looks.

If money no object then the M40i for sure.
I’m tempted to say in 3rd place would be the E89, but it’s not an easy choice. I loved all my Zeds for different reasons.
The DCT on the e89 was lovely, but the E89 gave me the most problems too. The wheels buckled because of run flats and I had issues with the lights.


Running costs are also important? I always have a bmw warrantee.
