Yes always been a 359 fan & you know they work as SteveZ4 has them on his white 28i . 9j 10j , worth asking Steve what size rubber he's running as you will need a step up especially in widths

Thanks Andy. A few things to think about before taking the plunge. Quality wise would the Strom be a match for the Veemans?

Never had hold of a set of Strom so couldn't say , Jamie_z4 should be able to answer though :wink:

Thanks again Andy. I have sent a message to Steve Smith asking about tyres as you suggested. I saw that Jamie had a set of these 359s for sale. I might pursue that avenue,although the tyres on his wheels would not be the ones I would choose. Plus He would prefer collection rather than courier. When I have more info on the tyres I’ll do some research on prices and compare with what it would cost against Jamie’s wheels with decent tyres on the rears to match the Pirellis on the front.
When I get something sorted out I’ll post some photos.

There are almost too many to choose from. I quite like the 295s too, just wish they were available in 19 inch. In a way they remind me of the 108s I had on the E85. If I do decide on a change I ‘ll let you know. Thanks for the interest.

Have you considered the style 230? Similar to the 295 but 19" (I believe they originally were available on the E92/E93 3 series - not sure if they will fit an E89 though).

Thanks for letting me know about these. They do look good. Similar to my existing wheels but will fill the arches better. Another plus point is that the ‘Oberstormfurin’ is quite keen on that design. Happy wife happy life.
Just had dash cams fitted to both cars today. Have installed the same ones used by ProfCJJ in June. His write up was a big help.
Let you know what happens about the 230s.

Hi again Andy. Bought and paid for the wheels. Should arrive on Friday. Spoke to the guy on his mobile this evening. I was surprised to find him at his workshop this late but he is going on holiday tomorrow so he’s packaging the wheels tonight. He assured me that there had been no cracking or buckling. Paid with PayPal.

Anyway glad you got where you wanted , i think the 230s will be a real enhancement to your car plus relatively rare wheel too & i'm sure they will look great on see how they sit once fitted , you may feel a 5mm spacer behind the fronts is required but you may not even notice

It all depends on the year of your car and whether you have the TPMS valves in the wheel or not.
If the valves just look like normal rubber valves there is no problem swapping wheels and having to replace the valves with TPMS ones.

Glad you liked the 230s suggestion. I was actually considering them a while back for my E85, but decided to stick with my current wheels until the tyres need replacing (and I had some other things to spend money on...)

I was going to post a thank you to you too for first drawing my attention to this design. Mr Wilks had obviously read your post and had then seen the wheels I’m buying on EBay. He sent me a message and I managed to complete the deal last night. Hopefully the wheels will be with me on Friday but depending on the courier it could be Monday. Will post some pictures when they are on. Thanks again for taking the trouble to offer a suggestion.

They are a nice design and have the bonus of being easier to clean compared to styles like the CSLs - and not as commonly fitted (even on the E92/E93).

(Disclaimer - I am not criticising the CSL style as I currently have some on my car!)
