Should I be concerned?

Randomly, my steering wheel starting clicking today when going past centre. Was very much an internal sound, and only lasted about 5 minutes before going away.

Just one of those things, or signs of an underlying issue? Thoughts, suggestions, experiences welcome.

define the click, could you feel it or was it more of an electrical clicking sound than a mechanical click? mine has randomly made a weird noise since Ive owned it on and off. sounds a bit like a soft button being pressed or where an electrical connection is being made.

My E46 did this most of the time. I think it was coming from the slip ring. All the controls worked and there was no airbag warning light, so I just ignored it.

Yeah, didn't really feel anything, but certainly more of a mechanical click (bit of a plastic type click) than electrical.

Sounds like the self cancelling gizmo for the indicator stalk...

It was that kind of sound, so maybe there is just an issue with the mechanics behind that?

My kind of answer :-) It's not come back since, so let's wait and see what happens I guess.

Thanks all for your thoughts. Cars can be stupid sometimes... :headbang:
