Shmee has released a first look video

I love the dash, cant say the car looks has me excited, maybe in the flesh it will be better,, and it already needs a new battery

Looks like a Kia from the front. The rear is nice though. It'll take time to get used to the side profile especially with the roof up.

shmee just really grinds my gears, same as that vehicle virgins guy
as for the car, not a fan of the headlights, but otherwise it looks pretty good... not e86 good of course

Sorry but that is Horrid.

Especially the side profile/ wheel base. The rears need to go back by about 4 inches.

Not a fan of the front end either.

It’s not doing much for me at the moment, hopefully I’ll learn to like it.

On a more positive note some of the technical spec looks great, It should drive really well. I might even ask for a test drive when it eventually comes out - even though I couldn’t afford one if I did want one.

I think its a good looking car. Definately recognizeable as a Z4.
But imho 1500kg is still too heavy, it should be sub 1400kg. Helps agility.
And no manual.... if it would have one, it would be half way towards that 1400kg target (not often mentioned, but that 8 speed is superheavy for a gearbox)

Yep, two of THE most annoying blokes ever. Period.

Still not floating my boat. Hopefully at some point they will turn the engine up a lot. May be then.

Love the cockpit and the hood. Sat in an M850i recently and the interior is really similar - looks like there's a "full" leather option too.

I like the overall look but agree about the side profile. It was telling that the designer said (in Autocar) that it was difficult to get the front right due to pedestrian safety regs - it's very compromised compared to the . I also think that having the driver sat further forward is going to do wonders for the perceived handling and ride comfort of the car (especially compared to the E85/E86).

The european version of the car gets 340bhp with the US version getting 380bhp. On top of that the 0-62mph is rated at 4.6s???
The 35is ran this in 4.4s from the factory (Evo Mag). Is this a joke? How can performance barely of moved, no doubt it will be slower than 4.6s for the European versions as they are 340bhp rather than 380bhp.

All this talk of weight saving, yet the new car comes weighing in over 1500kg, what a joke.

The interior seats are beautiful, the rest of the car from an aesthetic perspective is okay, but the front end seems out of place and the rear is just too box shaped. The rear lights are beautiful aswell!

I'm not seeing anything particularly "wrong" with the side profile... :? Looks are always subjective.

Relative to it's overall length, those wheels are too close together - they need to be pushed out to the extremities. The rears particularly look too far in.

It looked better with the black and white camouflage than in any colour seen so far.

Looks like the bastard offspring of an unmentionable weekend threesome with an S2000, SLK and a Fiat Spyder.

This car was to be a Boxster rival? Wonder how long the sales people at Porsche will take to stop laughing.

The front, the back, the middle? Which is worse?

Interior for the Bluetooth generation. Ok if you like gadgets. Probably ok to live with.

The same guy who scribbled this abomination also designed the 1 or 2 series suv pretendy off roader bollocks thing. That should have given BMW enough of a warning. Perhaps he's never seen a convertible before and it was a last minute design on a Sunday night after being on the beer, whisky and German hookers all weekend.

Ugly, ugly, ugly, ugly and ugly!

That's my last comment on this monstrosity. I'll just pretend it doesn't exist from now on as BMW ended production of the Z4 in 2009.

And how does it drive...?? Any idea...?? Or are we poo pooing it purely on looks?

My 981 looks a pile s**t...I don’t like the looks of it but damn it’s a cracking car to drive..

It could be the best car to drive in the history of man but it doesn't exist to me anymore as it's just so fugly.

How was your experience driving it? Better than the Porsche? Worse? Same?
