Shift indicator not working

Just noticed my thingy that tells me when to shift gear is not working am quessing my battery is a bit low as have been doing a lot of short trips with lights heated seat ,etc on anybody else with same issue? does this switch off to conserve power. :? :?

Possibly, stealer told my wife it could be turned off completely, so makes sense for it to shut it down.

It might just be turned off? Try press and hold on the stalk button which normally cycles the display of mpg etc

Got a feeling this happened a few years ago on my 3er but z is in for a security update in two weeks so will ask then :|

I get the same thing - but on mine it's intermittent. Sometimes I look down and see it's not there (not that this bothers me, as I ignore it anyway) and I think "oh, I wonder if I've somehow turned it off?" I'll look again a few hours later and there it is, merrily telling me to change gear.

Not sure if it's a universal experience but my Z4 seems to have a number of odd electrical gremlins. I love technology but wonder if things are getting too clever and the quality control can't keep pace... :?
