Shed advice

Right I've a 8ft x 8ft shed off gumtree for a load of stuff from the garage (ie BBQ, fishing gear, mower, chairs etc) so the zed can go in the garage. Now I've got to level the ground, but as for a foundation I have a load of 500x500 paving slabs. Can I just put them down as a foundation rather than digging out and creating a concrete foundation? I'm not a DIY guru, but I want to create a masterpiece for as little as possible using resources I currently have! :D
 
Ha! Hmm ahem, yes, I been working out the new patio today and everything is meters squared so I've got meters on the brain! Lol. Edited 8ft x8ft!!!!
 
I think paving slabs will be fine but I would then sit it on 2"x 2" or similar treated batons to lift it off any damp. I have 2 sheds, an 8X6 sitting on batons for 21years and a 10x8 sitting on batons for 12years and the shed bases are still fine.
 
Bed the paving stones on a sand and cement dry mix and as stated above knock up a 2 x 2 frame to create an air gap under the shed floor (it may come with this but if not just buy a few lengths of pressure treated baton to do the job).
 
my old prefab garage was on paving slabs, grey rectangular concrete ones that looked very much like someone had lifted them from a council pavement. i guess these were on some sort of aggregate base the same as the drive (it was all done by the previous owners albeit a bit shonkily)

it looked like they had moved after laying and settled a bit wonkey but that could be down to the base underneath. they worked fine tbh.
 
I would sit it on bearing timber as described above but would also run a layer of DPM (about £5/roll from B&Q or Wickes) along the top and bottom of the bearing timber to prevent any moisture wicking up into the shed timbers
