OK, so this thread is a little more dull perhaps than you thought. But I thought I'd share a quick review. Needed a jack, and I'd left my axle stands a few hundred miles away at my dad's. So found a really nice looking low profile 2 tonne jack, rubber jacking-pad and a tidy carry case. This also came with two ratchet style axle stands.

I ordered it yesterday at 3.30pm, and it arrived today at 9am. Brilliant service. Really nicely packaged, and a jack which I'd be happy to keep polished. Haha. I can't comment on durability/longevity but initially seems great. Plus the handle rotates for those awkward angles.

67 quid delivered !!! :D:D:D (eBay price, their website is slightly more)

There we go, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181157648116

They do it cheaper without the case (although I don't know if they put the rubber pad on the jack without it), plus I like things looking neat. It is even more of a bargain without the stands, but I needed them. At least I'll have 4 stands when I go back up north and have room to bring them back down with me.

Glad to help! Seem to get some decent reviews.

Just browsing their website now, they seem bargains! Think I may treat myself to a new low profile jack, great post, thanks!

Hi,

Just another  for SGS, I bought the same jack about 3-4 years ago for my se7en and now use it on the Z as well as our other DD's and it has been fautless.

Stu.

Definitely going to make a purchase as I need a low profile one, my current jack cant get under either of my cars.

Just can't decide between

or

It's going to be close! at least driving onto something smaller than a brick for me is going to save my clutch, and everything else if it slips. :driving:

How far in to the car is the front jacking point? On some previous cars, you needed to put most of the jack under the car and looking at the 2 tonne low profile, this wouldnt work as its highest point is 15cm which is pretty much the height of the car without any lowering springs.

Yes still slightly redundant with this - you need a more expensive longer wheelbase jack. To be honest there has been a lot of debate about jacking from the front centrally, and I think the consensus was unless you have an M/// which has a hockey puck to jack from, spend a few mins longer and jack from the back, which will bring the front up high enough to get an axle stand onto the jack point.

looks good, could do with a log jack for both my cars!

i would really love to get a set of these but they are not cheap :)

That looks interesting, although I'm not sure a lowered Z would have the bumper clearance? I used the mentioned jack today, works like a jack ... Which is a good start. I could only just get the axle stands under the mounts clearance wise when jacking from the rear central point, 'twas a close one! That's where the much more expensive longer armed low profile jacks give you the extra reach. Still, all good.

I brought there 2.5 Ton Aluminium Racing Trolley Jack last year as I got fed up of driving onto blocks of wood. Really good service and great quality.

I like this, what a bargain - I am also fed up driving onto bricks. Need to measure the clearance under my jacking points... May order this, cheers

I've got this one too, except without the fancy box.

+1 me too and a very good product for the price

Need some advice. I am assuming a 1.25 tonne jack will be ok for the Z4 which has a weight of 1290kg I believe. It's not like you are jacking up the whole car, its only ever one corner or front / back. Thinking about getting this...

I have 2 of these that i use for my cars. It fitted under the Z4 fine

I wouldn't bother wasting money on a 1.25 tonne jack. It would probably be useless for 90% of cars and is marginal for the z4 say you wanted to lift both wheels via subframe. I've had trolley jacks start letting cars down while i've had the wheels off and it's not a nice situation.
