Servicing

My car is due its first service in my ownership in April.
It's just due an oil service but I'm considering having the valve clearances checked too.
I did an interim oil change last year but It's done approx. 6k miles since its last service book service (inspection 2) at 38k miles, valve clearance and gasket kit were listed on the invoice but have no actual measurements which is why I'm considering doing them again.

Have been quoted £180 from two indies for the oil service and £160 from one for the valve clearances including gasket kit, does that sound cheap or about right?

These are the two local-ish ones I'm looking at using if anyone has any experience of them?

If I go main dealer then my nearest ones are Rybrook Worcester, Sytner Oldbury, Benham Wolverhampton.
Anyone have experience of these?

Jmo but if the ins2 was done by a recognised garage & the car is running ( & sounding ) sweet why would you go sticking your fingers in the pie so to speak ?

Yeah I've thought about it from that side too but would have been more satisfied if I'd had a measurement report.
Inspection 2 was done by Paddock Motors in Exeter a few months before I bought it. They have some decent reviews on here and cutters.

I'm a main dealer fan boy
As can always through it back at them
Indies will tell you were to go
Plus main dealers upto date on training and hardware etc
Just my opinion :)

Give them a bell, you never know they may have the measurements. Doubtful I know, but must be worth a call.
