Servicing schedule

Can someone remind me what the service schedule is. I just had the inspection 1 back in feb 2011 and the next one is due in feb 2013

whoops just checked and it's only had an oil service so next one is inspection 1 and I think it will need a brake fluid change, any ideas on cost from BMW stealer? also it will be four years old at it's next service so is it worth getting BMW to do it rather than an indy?

at 4yrs + its down to personal preference .
i would always go the indy route & have more item,s sorted for less money ,that way i think the car benefits as opposed to fancy dealer stamps ?
plus routine servicing at main dealers i don,t like as it tends to be handed over to the juniors  yeah . scary thought :o

your next service will just be an oil change.

oil
insp 1
oil
insp 2

repeat.

If you are doing low miles though you can have more oil services in between. I'm only doing 2k per year so there is little point in following the above.

Well just got my local stealers £340 for inspection 1 and £65 for oil change

Indy price is £220 for inspection1 and £40 for oil change

Opinions please

Hi personally I think if you have BMW extended warranty . I would go to the main dealers for peace of mind .if you have an engine problem you don't want to give them an excuse not to cover it because it perhaps hasn't got a stamped BMW filter & 0w30 castrol edge professional oil in it .

Last inspection 1 at main dealer was £276 but that was 12 months ago , current brake fluid change price ,last month was £68 .

I believe if you read the T&C's and of the BMW Extended warranty that you HAVE to have it done at a BMW dealer. I may be wrong, but I thought it said that.

Personally I would take to a main dealer anyway - during my recent service I was glad I took it to them because while they were servicing it they also noticed the exhaust manifold had a crack in it, and there was a slight oil leak, all fixed under the extended warranty with no hassle.

Just need to decide if I bother with extended warranty for a second year. I have a 3.osi engine would it be best to get the warranty with the know problems this engine can have? Mine so far has no engine problems but is it a false economy to assume it will be fine and not renew the warranty insurance?

sorry typo, £40 for brake fluid change by indy and £65 for brake fluid change for BMW dealer

Well after phoning 4 more stealers no one can do it for less than £340 that I have been quoted

Indy has quoted £200

Does anyone know of a quote lower by a BMW dealer than £340 I can use to make my local stealer price match?

Some dealers will let you supply your own oil and plugs, or will price match those parts. A fair number of people have saved quite a bit that way...
