Service reset / Program software

Just wondering what software / coding is around for the Z4???

Are most people just usind the OBCII one from flea bay, or is there something more like the VAG VCDS where you can program the lights, central locking etc???

I guess I'm just looking to be able to scan the car, find any faults and reset service lights etc etc......to start off with... :poke:

I can see the NCS software and cable on Ebay... I just don't want to buy something that doesn't really work (as with the VAG stuff on ebay)

Do we have an "official" retailer of it on the forum???

YOU NEED THE FOLLOWING:

DIS - diagnostic software for BMW's
SSS v32 - allows you to code car to keys and retrofit items
INPA - clear some faults and see status of engine when running.
Navcoder - free download

options by from ebay as i did but installation on laptop is a 55 page manual or pay more from BM technics

remember ebay and others may be copies as the real software is very expensive.
 
Yeah tell me about it... the VCDS one was over £200....

They can be worth the money though.... I saved more than that changing bits on my cars, and changing my mates RS6 that had been wrongly coded as "warm country"...

You don't need software to reset service interval.

Do it by pressing service buttons near odometer, but I can't recall the sequence. Someone will though..
 
I have bmwtechnic cable and software

Resetting airbag light and turning off auto door lock fairly straight forward

Currently trying to turn off reverse beep which is buried a little deeper.
(Rather try before just unplugging cable)


Anyway well worth the monies
