Guys seems Bmw price match is not guaranted?? :lol: , just booked it in for an inspection 2 service today, Emtec will do it for £265 quid Bmw at Dick Lovetts wanted £388 , so we meet in the middle at £320 which I thought was ok , seeing it saved me a 90 mile round trip and a day waiting for it on a saturday.... did I get a good price from main dealer ???? :?

good deal, but I assume their price guarantee only applies to other BMW dealers....not sure if EmTec are? They'd be daft if it didn't because in Wales its half the price!

Thats a good price.
I just paid £338 @ Sunningdale BMW - that was price matched to Oxford. Originally they wanted 558!!!

£319 is their standard price for an 'value service' Inspection 2 (e46 6-cylinder model) - so don't see what would make the Z4 with the same engine any different.

As for the price match 'guarantee' - if you've got a copy/link of the webpage & the T&Cs, and have complied with any T&Cs required (e.g. quote from VAT-registered specialist within 30 miles, etc.) then you could report them to Trading Standards or the ASA for false advertising/bait-&-switch tactics - assuming you're bothered

Well was going to fire off an email to there customer service team , just stating that I was a little unhappy with sistuation, and see where I could go from there maybe get discount off the next service or they could give me a free cruise control!!! :evil: :rofl: .... to be fair not sure if I bother rather have a main dealer stamp for the extra

I paid £322 for inspection 2 @ my local dealer.local indy wanted £290 , so think was a great price to keep dealer history !

I just got a quote for an oil service from my local stealer and nearly fell over backwards when they quoted me AU$708.00! $350 in labour just to change the oil?!?

BMW dealers will lift your leg up if they get the chance. A few service managers are savvy enough to fight for business they otherwise wouldn't get.Better to get something in, than to lose it to an Indy.others are plain greedy.

Well have had a think the car is going in tomz, so i get the work done all smiles etc , then i will send in a complaint I think this is the best route, update how I get on

I havent seen the wording but my local BMW dealer has something about within a reasonable distance or words to that effect. 90 miles might be outside a reasonable distance?

Yeah its says 50 miles and Bmw to emtec is 42 miles via route map, so would be within the required T&c's distance

my next service is due in 400km, will pass that over xmas

not looking forward to finding a reasonably priced service, my local dealer is the only one within 500km, so they dont even have competition to price match :x
will have to find a decent indy!
