Well seen as I’m going to be taking the car to Europe this year I thought it would be best to make sure the car is up to its best. So I’m looking at the best place to get a good service and MOT. Any ideas how much I should expect to pay for the below items? And where the best place around Halifax/Huddersfield/Bradford is to get this done?
Undercarriage
• Change oil and filter
• Check Transmission for leaks
• Check rear axle for leaks
• Check power steering for leaks, check fluid levels, add if necessary
• Check steering for absence of play. Condition of suspension track rods, front axle joints, steering linkage and joint disk.
• Grease wheel-centring hubs
• Check brake system connections and lines for leaks, damage and incorrect positioning.
• Check for free movement of the parking break cable. Adjust if necessary.
• Check half-shafts for leaks at flexible boots
Engine Compartment
• Read out diagnostic system
• Check engine cooling system/heater hose connections for leaks. Change coolant and Check coolant level and anti-freeze protection level.
• Check level of break/clutch fluid in reservoir and add if required.
• Re gas air conditioning
• Replace spark plugs
• Replace air cleaner element.
• Change oil in manual transmission while at normal operating temp
• Change oil in rear axle while at normal temp
• Check clutch for wear.
• Brake fluid service
• Cooling system service
• Oxygen sensor service
Body/Electrical
• Preform battery load test.
• Change wiper blades
• Oil roof, boot, bonnet and door hinges
• Replace micro filter
Other Items.
• Vacuum leak causing revs to increase while breaks applied.
• Loud creaking from behind the passenger seat requires investigation.
• Knocking from front. Believe to be anti-roll bar? Track rod end?
• Replace front drivers side headlight washer pump
• Front bumper under tray damaged
