Service indicator

Hi I have a 2007 Z4 roadster 1995 cc. I have owned it 16 months and done 7450 miles. The service indicator started at 11,000 miles and now shows it due at 10,450. I have had the oil levels checked and changed where necessary and a new MOT but am concerned that the service indicator is either not working properly or showing an incorrect mileage due to the next service.

I use an excellent independent garage and am thinking it would be prudent to have a full service done despite the indicator .
Does anyone have any thoughts please?

Thank you very much>

When the service indicator is reset after a service it defaults to 15500 miles to the next service, though this can vary depending on the type driving undertaken it can either extend if primarily motorway driving or decrease if stuck in stop start city driving.

That said a service should be carried out every 2 years regardless of the service indicators countdown.

approx intervals would be

15000 / 2 years, Oil Service
30000 / 4 years, Inspection 1
45000 / 6 years, Oil Service
60000 / 8 years, Inspection 2
Etc

Hope that helps
