Hi All, I'm looking at a Z4M BMW history book, it has the following in order of appearance:

delivery insp
running in @ 1200
oil service @ 12,000
(4 year gap... Then:)
Inspection 2 with micro filter, brake fluid, air cleaner @ 22,000 by Hexagon
BMW Approved Used Car stamp @ 22,000 by Hexagon

Does anyone have concerns over what they see here or is it way at you'd expect to see for this mileage?

Thanks in advance!

It's missed at least 1 interim (time-based) oil service in that 4 year gap - which usually means warranty claims would not be honoured.

However, BMW/Hexagon 'may' still offer warranty, but you'd have to make sure you've got that firmly in writing (preferably in stone) so they don't try to wriggle out of a warranty claim later. This is probably why Hexagon have done an Insp2 so early...to make sure everything is fine before offering a warranty.

If it's at Hexagon then won't it already be about twice the price of similar ones elsewhere :P

It's with a private seller who bought it from Hex and is selling a month later. All smells a bit funny. Seller is happy to have an AA vehicle inspection carried out.

I'd be more interested in why the seller is moving it on after only 1 month. Suggests its a unregistered trader or maybe a hex employee who's picked up a trade in cheap and looking to make a few £. This seller could have seen a fault and wants out before the bills land? Buyer beware for me here.

If your satisfied its all good then the service history wouldn't be an issue for me as it sounds like its old enough to be out of warranty anyway.

Ah, hang on I've re-read some info. Seller has had the car for 6 months. Only put 2k on the clock and selling due to not using it enough. He says there is also 6 months AUC warranty left on it too.

Does anyone know if inspection 2 covers more items then Inspection 1?

Yes Inspection 2 is more comprehensive than Inspection 1 (hence the increased cost)

AUC warranty wil only normally be valid if it has a full service history.
BEWARE if you are considering buying that the Warranty Company (Mondial) are aware that it's missed a time based service.....
