Service Every year ??

On my second cars i always get them serviced every year Weather it be scheduled or not and mileage i always do under 5k a year in my second car.
I was wondering the service on the z4c 3.0si seems to be a lot of mileage for the intervals they tell you Obviously this is fine but do you guys get a oil change every year regardless ??

I ask this question because i see a lot of service history books stammed 2-3years apart on lower mileage cars

I did less than 2k per year. Opted for an oil service only as an interim measure, and kept the main services at the recommended intervals
 
I change my oil and filter every year. I also refuse to pay BMW to do it because they want to charge £150 to undo a nut and then do it back up again... :rofl:

You had an Inspection 1 or 2 every 4,000 miles. :o
 
Nice to see im not the only one who don't leave it to long :D

service on mine was done a year and half ago on 37k its now on 42k so i went to check the oil to see if its still yellow or gone brown or black and theres no dipstick
What on earth i love the dip stick check once a week crazy :rofl:
So ill be getting a inspection 2 done on mine this summer sometime and change the filter and oil yearly from there onwards :)
 
Ours gets an inspection 2 every other year and an oil service the year in between. Dont bother with the Inspection 1 service as dont see any point

I was going to say, would be overkill.
 
I've had mine serviced and checked over every year just before taking it to Europe. Probably overkill, but I like to know everything is being looked after
 
I service mine to the usual intervals, with an interim oil change. So say oil, oil, insp 1, oil, oil, insp 2, oil, oil, insp 1 etc. I do less than 6k miles a year.
Yes, this is overkill compared to the 'recommended' oil change frequency, but for the price of the oil and filter kit it's something I'm happy to do myself. When I see the oil at 8k miles and the difference to the new oil it makes me think the engine appreciates it!
 
Regardless of miles driven BMW USA recommends an oil change once a year as the minimum.
