So I have been have the SES come on intermittently. It would come on. Then after a day it would go away. Had this pattern for about a week now. Car runs great. Nothing out of the ordinary. So finally today I managed to get it to the Auto Zone and they put it on the diagnostic. Came up with the following determination. PO444
Just want to know is this super serious. It is super expensive to fix? I am going to be driving approximately 700 miles before I can get it into the shop. Is that ok?

Definition:
EVAP - purge vent circuit condition. The solenoid and system wiring are monitored for opens and shorts. Probable cause.

881 Purge or vent solenoids defective
882 Check connector and wiring
883 Fuel saturated vapor canister
884 Failed EVAP vent solenoid

Any helpful advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Unfortunately I have never come across this fault before so I have no idea what the problem might be :(

Hopefully someone else might be able to assist you, either way I hope you get it sorted ok.

Fuel vapour recovery system. Will not effect performance but will increase evaporative emissions. The canister is under the car behind the right rear wheel. Could be cheap or expensive, depending on what's really wrong. As it's intermittent (otherwise SES would not go out) it could be hard to identify. At least check the wiring connections.

Thanks for that advice BCWORKZ. Will check it out. Seems to only occur when I put gas in. Also thought perhaps gas cap not tight enough and sending false readings.

That's a good thought, it is a possibility. It runs a specific test for that after refuelling, which if positive, throws a different warning. I think what's happening is it's getting implausible results from this test, resulting in the errors you are seeing. Just a theory though, I couldn't know for sure.
