Hi all. I am going to be putting my E85 3.0 si up for sale soon and I also have the hard top in matching colour with a stand and cover. Do you think people would prefer just the car or as a package?

Offer it to buyers as an extra at a little over the odds (say £1100) and explain that, if they don't buy it and change their mind afterwards, finding a colour matched one will take an age.

Sell it as a job lot but also a price without the hardtop included. Then they have a choice. I use mine all year round and we like to go out with the roof down in the winter so a hardtop for us wouldn't work.

i'd price it up for just the car, but then state that a matching hardtop is also available for £xxx extra.

i'm with Mikey, i wouldnt be interested in a hardtop, especially given how much they are!

I'd suggest more are looking for a zed without the hardtop so I'd sell separately.
If you don't sell the roof at your asking price you can always offer as a package with a 100 quid discount or something.

Thanks everyone. I will include it as part of the car advert as an extra item and create a seperate ad for it and see how it goes.

For me, the appeal of having a colour coded hardtop is definitely a bonus. I use mine every winter on our daily, my brother who owns a s2000 also uses his every winter, a friend of mine recently purchased a e46 m3 convertible, and has since purchased a hardtop. I agree, selling the hardtop as an optional extra makes more sense, but don't dismiss it's appeal as I think you'd be surprised, as it saves the buyer the time, hassle, and cost of having it resprayed to their desired colour. Ideally it makes for a package deal. GLWTS

I bought my hardtop on spec when I bought the car. It's not colour coded, rather black which, like dresses, goes with everything. This was the chap's thinking, along with making it easier to sell on its own if I didn't take it.

I probably paid over the odds as I'd not looked into one beforehand.
