Selling advice

Hey all im just looking for a bit of advice.
After 3 years of happy zed'ing its coming time to sell up, we've got a little one on the way and only 1 parking spot so will be getting rid of the Zed sadly.

The car has been a dream to drive and over the 3 years ive had it only required a new window regulator and the front bushings changed (after failing the last MOT) the car is 55 plate 2.0 with just over 100k miles on it. its got the usual wear and tear of 15 years & 100k miles but is solid and like I said no issues, full dealer or specialist service history and had the roof motor replaced when I bought it from the last dealer. At present similar cars seem to be around £2.5k on ebay which seems reasonable, my issue is the MOT. it expires in July but im away for the next 6 weeks and was going to leave to the MRS to sell.

the question I guess is, would I get a better price if I MOT'ed it or will people not really be that bothered? im just thinking after the MOT last year it cost over £300 to get the bushings fixed inc labour plus the MOT and im just wondering whether the potential of another sizeable outlay would outweight selling it with a shorter MOT?

You need to get it MOT'd for the reasons you've outlined; not many will want to take a punt at a 100k miles zed with only a few months left on the MOT and the potential for big bills.
 
Yes, MOT it.

After all you probably wouldn't buy a car with 100K miles and a short MOT would you? :thumbsup:
 
Just get it MOT’d before you leave. It’ll change the anniversary but will give you peace of mind it’s all done and ready to go. Rather than dumping it on your Mrs’s. Then all she has to do is sell.
