Sell or Just Return

After 33 months of ownership, I am fancying a bit of change and am wondering if it is worth trying to sell the car or just returning it BMW FS will be effectively the same. I need some advice on how much can I expect to sell it for, and what will be the best channel. The details of the car are as below (some of this stuff might be standard but I am not sure so will just list it):

2007 (August) Si Sport Coupe
22000 miles (somewhere between 21-22)
Ruby Red
Red Interior
Auto Transmission
Bluetooth
Electric Sports Seat
Heated Seats
MV2 Alloys (all curbed) with original tyres (plenty of tread still left)
Rear Parking Sensors

Was serviced by Vines Guildford on 23/07/2009 at 16,610 miles.

There are two blemishes:
- Someone scraped the near(passenger) side bumper on the parked car
- Driver side skirt has a scraping mark, not sure how it got there, probably some stone flying of the front wheel only noticed it when washing the car myself.

Cheers

Hi,

I would say around £18k.

p.s. you might want to condsider refurbing your wheels to help the sale. http://www.wheelrefurbishing.com/OLDSITE/pricelist.htm

I just bought a 56 3.0si Coupe with Auto, Champagne, Heated Seats and Sat Nav (no bluetooth) for just over £18 (+ some wiggleroom for the trade-in so who knows the true price) with similar miles, from a Main Dealer with all their prep to make it perfect etc. so I'd expect south of £18.

Thanks for your input, much appreciated. This is quite close to trade-in offers I am getting from the dealers. It seems that might be the way to go for me then.

Thanks

BMWFS will go out of their way to recover any residual value. I just changed my 320d SE workhorse (80000 miles) at the end of a BMWFS contract. They sent me a letter with a "menu" of charges for wear and tear - windscreen £350 to replace (check), Alloy Wheels £60 to refurb or £250 to replace each (check 1), Bumpers £200 to refresh or £500 to replace each (check * 2  ). Add to this stone chips, 3 new tyres and the general need to tidy the car up (parking dings) and I was looking at a charge of over 2 grand + an outstanding service.

I guess I could have replaced the screen on insurance, got the wheel fixed, sorted the tyres, got "chips away" to sort stone chips and 1 bumper and got the other bumper fixed - but frankly I couldn't be ar$ed with the effort, so I haggled with the dealer and got a better price from them for the total cost to change.

Thanks for info on BMWFS didn't realise they were that picky. well hoping I will trade it in or sell at a value higher than BMWFS settlement figure and pay them off rather than send the car back to them.

Thanks
