Seats on a E89

Wow guys, this is great info! I've been able to identify a few ads wrongly claiming to have sport seats and/or electric adjustment.

Thanks! And glad that it doesn't seem to be such a noob question :D

Shopping for a used bmw can be challenging. BMW's ala carte offering means every used car may be different in one way or another. Plus people don't know what they have. You must run every VIN # for a vehicle you like through a decoder and then ( half the time) translate the results to English :?
If you don't do this you will get surprised and it might not be in a good way. Luckily even though I got a base model (only way a stick shift was offered in the US) I did get heated seats which I love, And honestly they are comfortable but lack the bolsters needed for spirited driving and the illusive thigh extension I've heard about. Buying used is about saving money and accepting compromises.

This is so very true. Probably true if you buy brand new too since unless you have a limitless budget you are going to have to pick and choose which options to leave out, probably why hardly anyone specs the lumbar support.

3 out of 12 cars I'm tracking. Hardly any electric adjustment though... I'd think this would be more popular :/

What frustrates me is to see BMW exclusive options as standard equipment on cars costing half as much :o
I know we are paying a premium for the ride and handling. These aspects of the car are great but, do we have to get screwed so hard on the addons !? This problem is across the board on all models at all prices. :headbang: :x

Yep always been the case with German premium brands. I remember back when Mercedes didn't even give you electric windows or a radio! My mate bought a new E Class in 1991 which we went to collect from Germany, he had forgotten to spec electric windows to say he was a bit annoyed is mild. LOL I understand the car makers have to make money but come on, in this day and age things like wind deflector extended lighting package folding door mirrors etc should be standard on cars of this level.

If 3 cars don't have any electric adjustment it means the other 8 do though right? that is pretty popular in my book.
