Seat Issue

I have a problem on my driver's seat in that it has come apart a little at the side, I assume a clip has broken or something similar, but I have no idea how to fix it. I've put my hand in to see if it's something obvious but it certainly wasn't to me. Any ideas please?

You ought to pm MrPT he's just stripped his seat and replaced the foam or look for his recent how to photos showing how the clips were positioned.

Difficult to see from the picture what is up.

Assuming the other bolster is fine, I would get into the cabin, facing the headrest, and feel around the back of each bolster to compare them. You should be able to tell from that whether the problematic bolster needs to have the edge of the leather pushed in further, or whether it has popped out and slipped over the outer edge of the seat back. If it's the latter, then you probably need to pull it out a little more, re-align the plastic bead on the leather with the slot that runs around the back of the seat, then push it (hard!) back into place.

How would you remove the rear shell / furry back from the main seat?

Like this.

Thanks, might be a little too much work ahead of trading the wife's E85 in, my M has a rub on the rear which I'd love to swap, but only have a few hours one evening to do it. We are picking up her replacement Z on Saturday.

Also would love her newer style centre caps, but the thought of jacking up 2 cars & removing 8 centre caps seems far more effort for the £40 cost, the rubber suction cap didn't work!

Looking forward to her collecting her E89 30i to replace her 2.5si though, think I'm more excited than her at the moment.

Tried to sort it today but failed, is it possible the plastic bead on the leather could have broken? Do you have any pics that could help?
