Seat Belt Anchoring bolt

I replaced my cloth seats with electric leather heated seats today. The anchor bolt to fasten the seat belt to the seat frame on the passenger side was a straight swop, but on the drivers side, the bolt is too long and wont fit. Has anybody else had this problem, and does the electric seat need a shorter bolt?
 
According to realoem.com all cars use the same bolt regardless of seat type, or passenger vs. driver. (part 72117117679) Is it possible a previous owner substituted a different bolt?

But if it doesn't fit, it doesn't fit, you'll need to source one that does. Just make sure it's a high strength bolt, not common mild steel. It's probably possible to carefully trim off the excess if care is taken to not destroy the heat treatment. That said, this is a highly critical anchorage that one shouldn't be messing around with unless one really knows what they are doing. You do not want to get this one wrong!

Agree I'd just buy a new bolt from your local stealer
